Location and special features

The Glatt shopping center or Glattzentrum - often simply called "the Glatt" - is not only one of the oldest shopping centers in Switzerland, but above all the one with the highest turnover. Opened on February 13, 1975, the building at Neue Winterthurerstraße 99 in Wallisellen covers an area of more than 43,000 square meters and offers space for 90 specialty stores, four specialty markets, four bars and two department stores. In addition, Glatt is home to the so-called "Room of Silence" or "Raum+Stille", an ecumenical and interreligious service offered by the Roman Catholic and Reformed churches in the Canton of Zurich, which is open to people of all faiths or world views. Counseling sessions are also available there.

Directions and parking

The Glatt shopping center can be reached by car via the A1 and A4 freeways. There are 4,500 free parking spaces and 1,000 bicycle stands in front of the building. Public transportation is provided by the S-Bahn lines S8, S14 and S19 as well as the streetcar line 12.
