Drugstores as we know them today developed from the classic pharmacies and drugstores. In the early days, these were still small, owner-managed stores which were limited to remedies that were not subject to prescription. For a long time, some items such as sanitary towels or condoms were only available in drugstores. With the advent of photography for everyone, chemists specialized in developing films and photographs.
The first drugstore chains appeared in the early 1970s and transformed the classic drugstore into drugstores in line with today's standards. The product range comprises four main areas: Remedies, Beauty Care, Health Products & Food, Home & Garden Care.
