Location and special features

In an exposed location directly on the Rhine, the ambitious Rhein-Galerie project was built in Ludwigshafen between 2008 and 2010. The remarkable shopping center with a total of 130 stores on a sales area of 30,000 square meters resides on the former site of the Zollhof. However, not only the location in the first row directly on the Rhine, but also the architecture of the center is unusual for a shopping center. The elongated building itself looks like a ship and, especially when illuminated in the evening, is reminiscent of a river cruise ship. Within just a few years, both the Rhein-Galerie and the square in front of it have become popular meeting places in Ludwigshafen and Mannheim. The indoor area also features a small indoor playground for children.

Directions and parking

The location directly on the Rhine means that the Rhein-Galerie can only be reached via Rheinuferstraße. As a four-lane city road, it merges into the B 44 and the B 37 and therefore also offers the best connection to Mannheim and to the A 5, A 6 and A 61 freeways. The shopping center has its own multi-storey parking lot with a total of 1,400 parking spaces. Parking is free for the first hour. The Rhein-Galerie is also easy to reach by public transport, bus and train.
